Scope Oils was founded in 2009 by John Williamson in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. The company is one of the leaders in used cooking oil collections and recycling in South Africa.

We help spread the word to educate people about ways to manage waste cooking oil and about the benefits of using biodiesel instead of normal fossil fuels. We actively promote recycling waste products and the dangers of landfill sites.

Since 2009, we have played a vital part in recycling thousands of liters of used cooking oil into biodiesel and other industrial products and made a significant contribution to lessen carbon emissions and a smaller carbon footprint. We also expanded to additional waste/residue products and services as well as new oil (fresh cooking oil) to the used cooking oil collections.

Who we collect from?
We collect from everyone using cooking oil, from the household, to restaurants and kitchens, and hotels and hostels. No client too big or too small! Contact us to find out how we can assist you with safely disposing of your used cooking oil.

When do we collect?
Used Cooking Oil collections, grease trap cleaning and supplying of fresh oil run happens on a set schedule according to our individual customers’ needs, i.e. weekly, fortnightly and monthly. For the other waste and residues, we collect when it suits you. Together with each client we determine the best suitable schedule.
